Navy, Marine, Coast Guard RTP

Course Overview

Pilots who flew rotorcraft in the US Navy, Coast Guard, Marines and Air Force should have previously gained experience as fixed wing pilots during primary flight training in either the T-6 or T-34 aircraft.  Having completed this training, pilots are eligible for the FAA Commercial Single Engine Land Certificate with Instrument Rating privileges. This prior fixed wing experience and the corresponding airplane hours will greatly reduce the time to train for Rotor Transition.

If you have not yet converted your military ratings to fixed wing, you can learn more about the process here.

Rotor pilots who may have flown the T-37 in Air Force Primary will have a slightly different training outline as they will already hold the multi-engine rating.
