The following programs are designed to bridge the gap of flight time, FAA ratings or currency requirements which current or prior service members do not meet to be eligible for hire at Southwest Airlines.  Select the pathway below that best represents your current pilot qualifications.

This category applies to current or former military fixed wing aviators who:

  • Currently hold a unrestricted FAA ATP Certificate (Multi-Engine)

  • Do not meet the Southwest Airlines flight time currency requirements

This category applies to current or former military fixed wing aviators who:

  • Do not hold the unrestricted FAA ATP Certificate (Multi-Engine)

  • Meet all flight time requirements to apply for the unrestricted FAA ATP Certificate (Multi-Engine)

Multi-Engine Time Building/ATP Add-on

This category applies to current or former military fixed wing aviators who:

  • Need to add multi-engine flight time to meet the 50 hour requirement to apply for the unrestricted FAA ATP Certificate (Multi-Engine)

  • Other than multi-engine flight time... meet all other fixed wing flight time requirements to apply for the unrestricted FAA ATP Certificate
